Slay The Scene™: Costume, Character & Camera Workshop

This October, step beyond simply wearing a costume and learn how to bring a character to life in front of the camera.

Join Slay The Scene™ Academy for an immersive four-hour Costume, Character & Camera Workshop designed for models who want to strengthen their posing, movement, facial expression, camera awareness, storytelling, and overall presence while building professional portfolio content.

Led by Yesse Rodriguez of Slay The Scene™ Academy, this hands-on experience combines modeling instruction, real-time coaching, character development, professional photography, and content creation into one dynamic workshop.

Professional photography will be provided by Byron Ferrell Photography.

Event Location: Dunn, NC. The exact workshop address will be provided to participants upon registration.

During the first portion of the workshop, participants will work through modeling and camera techniques designed to help them become more intentional and confident in front of the lens.

Training will include modeling and posing fundamentals, facial expressions and camera awareness, costume and character development, movement and storytelling, individual and group posing exercises, camera-ready transitions, and techniques for creating stronger shapes and visual stories through wardrobe and character.

Participants will then put those skills into practice during the Live Camera & Content Lab.

Each model will receive live posing direction and coaching while working with Byron Ferrell Photography. Participants will also have the opportunity to observe real-time coaching demonstrations and see how small adjustments in posture, expression, movement, and positioning can completely change an image.

Every registered model will participate in an individual professional photography experience with Byron Ferrell Photography.

Each participant will have the opportunity to take up to 10 professional photos during the workshop and will select 3 favorite images to be professionally edited and delivered as part of the workshop experience.

Love more than three of your images? 📸 Additional edited images may be purchased directly through Byron Ferrell Photography for an additional fee. 

This gives participants an opportunity not only to practice what they learn during the workshop, but also to leave with professional images they can use for their modeling portfolio, professional branding, and content.

Models will be encouraged to continue building their skills and content through short-form video creation, behind-the-scenes footage, posing practice, character development, portfolio-building exercises, networking, and observation of live camera coaching.

The goal is for every portion of the four-hour experience to provide an opportunity to learn, practice, create, and grow.

Early Bird Registration: $85 - Available to the first 10 registered models.

General Registration: $100

Space is limited to approximately 25 models to provide participants with a hands-on experience and allow time for individual professional photography.

Your registration includes the full four-hour workshop, modeling and character coaching, professional photography, approximately 10 professional captures, 3 professionally edited images, live camera coaching, and content and portfolio-building opportunities.

Come prepared in a costume or character-inspired look that allows you to explore movement, expression, personality, and visual storytelling.
